Why Buy an Island?
Albion Online allows players to grow crops, herbs, and animals on their island. Farming is one of the basic economic pillars of the game. The farming system allows you to grown your own crops or herbs, with which you can feed animals, cook food, or even brew your own potions to use or sell.
Buying and Upgrading your island
Player islands can be purchased from the island merchant in any of the Main Royal Cities. Before you can buy an Island, you need to have had 30 days of premium. You do not need to have constantly have premium to retain your island.
There are 6 tiers for a Player Island, At Tier 1, you don’t have any farming or building plots, each upgrade of the Island will bring additional areas to build on the island.

You can build the following on your Island:
On Farm Plots:
- Farm: To farm plant seeds (Carrots, Beans, Wheat etc..)
- Herb Garden: To plant herb seeds (Arcane Agaric, Brightleaf Comfrey etc…)
- Pasture: To raise and breed animals (Chicken, Goats, Sheep etc…)
- Kennel: To raise and breed animals (Swiftclaw, Direwolf etc…)
- Refining and Crafting Stations (Lumber Mill, Tinkerer)
- Houses (To store chests, furtniture, and Labourers)
How to Build Farms and Pastures
You can get to the build menu by clicking on your avatar or pressing ‘H‘ on your keyboard.
You can build the following on your Island:
On Farm Plots:
- Farm: To farm plant seeds (Carrots, Wheat etc..)
- Herb Garden: To plant herb seeds (Arcane Agaric, Brightleaf Comfrey etc…)
- Pasture: To raise and breed animals (Chicken, Goats, Sheep etc…)
- Kennel: To raise and breed animals (Swiftclaw, Direwolf etc…)
On Building plots:
- Refining and Crafting Stations (Lumber Mill, Toolmaker)
- Houses (To store chests, furniture, and Labourers)
It is recommended to use the crafting stations in the Royal Cities for the additional bonus return. So best to build houses on your Private Island.
You cannot build a Guild Hall on a Private Island; and you cannot build farms on a Guild Island.
